FOR THE LOVE OF A BROTHER...

The author’s own love for his brother is obvious but what becomes even more clear is that Rob Pearce has written a very good book. His book “A Brother Lost” is more than just a tribute to his brother, Hugh Pearce, who was killed while flying in a Delaware Army National Guard helicopter June 17, 1989 – which happens to be the author’s birthday.  This book takes a brotherly look back at a shared life of memories and emotions. One can see the hurt that Rob endured but his love stands out above everything else. You can see how Rob’s own healing takes place as he unfolds his story.

The author shares his feelings about his family tragedy by opening his personal diary notes. That is the story form that Pearce uses to take the reader through this emotional transitional period. This is also how we learn so much about both Rob and his brother, Hugh.

One could only hope to have been blessed with a brotherly relationship like these two had. It is something rarely seen in today’s dysfunctional world. Reading this book has been healing for some readers, as they tend to re-evaluate their own relationships within their own family and put more importance on mending family issues.

This book is a good read for those who love stories of aviation and helicopters but it is even a better read for those who love people. A good story and it is shared well by the author with his readers. This book is a good read for all family members over 13 year’s of age.
