Title: Letters Home: The true story of Lt. Harry Frank Hunt Author: Faye C. Brown Publisher: Daphne Pub Co Reviewer: Steven J. Newton – AAA Member As a matter of course I don’t much like biographies and at first glance, Letters Home: The true story of Lt. Harry Frank Hunt appeared to be in this category. The book is an exhaustive compilation of letters, pictures and military records of a World War I veterinary. However after getting into the book I began to see that the author, Faye Converse Brown, was offering us a look into the life and times of a family embroiled in the savagery of World War I. The book is a history lesson in its most basic form. Eyewitness accounts and personal letters make it seem like you are there and living through the life of Lt. Harry Hunt. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about the life and times of our Soldiers in the War to End All Wars. In fact I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to get a better glimpse into the life of a Soldier. Times change but it seems war does not.
