Author: Kent Whitaker & Sheila Simmons Title: Tennessee Hometown Cookbook Publisher: Great American Publishers Reviewer: Marilyn Meredith – AAA Member
One of the Hometown Cookbook Series, Tennessee Hometown Cookbook, is filled with tried and true Tennessee recipes. The recipes are divided into the usual sections from Appetizers to Pies and Other Desserts, with wonderful recipes in between from soups, stews, chilies and chowder, crockpot, casserole and one skillet dinners. As an added bonus there’s a list of Tennessee Festivals at the end of the book. Of course I didn’t try every recipe, but what I liked about them is the ingredients are what you can find in any grocery store or your own cupboard, and the directions are straight-forward and easy to understand. I’m particularly fond of crockpot, casserole and one skillet dinners and these all sound scrumptious. Highly recommended.
