I was not expecting much given the subject and title of the book "To Love, Honor and OH BOY!: 30 Ways for Couples to say They're Wild About each Other." After all, I have seen and read many books about marriage and love being a minister myself and doing all the weddings over the years. So, I felt there would not be much new ground to break with another book about love and marriage - but I WAS WRONG! Author Patty Mondore really has taken this book into new places with old ideas and stories that truly illustrate her intended points. Mondore has also used Bible quotes perfectly to balance and give impact and wisdom to each story she relates. She writes like she is sitting down with you at your kitchen table sharing her soul with an old trusted friend. The writing style is comfortable and will make it an easy read. In fact, the reader will find it hard to put the book down. Each story takes you to a new place and each has a lesson for us. That is not something most writers pull off well - but she has taken this to an art form. The stories all seem to flow in the "right order" and each speak with life wisdoms without becoming sermons. They are presented as entertainment and yet, they are each worthy teaching tools. I was impressed by this not so simple book about love and marriage. I highly recommend this book for all couples regardless of how long you have been married, or how well your relationship is doing. I think this book would make a great wedding day present.
